I’m speculating but I’ve heard before that they want a 65 average and a 2.1 (or better) in every module across all years. I haven’t got that so they could just be autorejecting me on that basis. Probably not though
No worries at all - thank you for sharing your results! My strengths are motivation + resilience; my weakness is leadership preference. I feel like trying to work out the significance of these results is a bit like reading tea leaves - hopefully GR will put us out of our misery soon with some positive news 😊
i hope not because then i'm done for. i've got to the 77% thing but i'm not sure if it means anything.I’m speculating but I’ve heard before that they want a 65 average and a 2.1 (or better) in every module across all years. It might just be the Christmas lights but your message actually brought a tear to my eye. Thank you for being so lovely - it really means a lot 😊❤️Definitely speculation. I did not get 65 average in every module 😭 They may reject me once they review my application though. It’s most definitely the tests that automatically reject!
Your results are good leadership isn’t needed at such a junior stage so I don’t think that’s a negative being a weakness. I will say they have already given some AC’s out last week but I’m unsure of which scheme it’s for.
Wishing you good news soon x
i only heard back last week and submitted end of september, so i wouldn't worry yethas anyone heard back from w and c about VI? (for summer vac). i submitted in late october and still havent heard back...
Does being in touch and knowing the grad rec, help in any manner? I was having a discussion about this with someone I met at an open day and they told me it defo helped them! Views?
That makes sense! Thank you!It has been very very helpful to me (not in terms of it being an easier way to progress to the next stage but if you have a strong app and they remember you ofc it’ll help you!) but also in terms of getting very good advice not only for that particular firm but also if you want generic advice for apps.
I think it also varies if you just know them from an open day or if you have worked at the firm and the grad rec knows you (personally from experience latter helps a bit more but it’s helpful both ways!)
That's a pretty low conversion rate. It's helpful to know such details. Feel better about my rejection now. Conversion rates can be very low. Always worth keeping that in mind. They are a great firm though. Big issue with the US firms. Goodwin seems slightly better plus others. We should hear more next year. I like Sidley's straightforward application process. No SJT or Watson Glaser, IIRC. Best of luck if you're applying.I have a question to the community, for instance Sidley offers 17 TCs, they do four schemes which hosts around 20 candidates per scheme which comes to a total of 80. With the conversion to TC being difficult, what exactly should a candidate do to secure the offer and how do they assess you (specifically in Sidley). Does anyone have views on this?
Also any idea on how many candidates they send AC invites?
Thank you Tintin, hope you get an offer soon as well! Btw for Sidley did you apply for winter or?That's a pretty low conversion rate. It's helpful to know such details.
