Received an email from Burges Salmon that they are reviewing applications and that they will get back by COP Monday 27th. Weird because ACs have been offered!

same for bristol - don't know why they dont just send a PFO if ACs were first come first served!

Hi, just wondering how much leeway firms give for a few spelling/grammar mistakes or factual inaccuracies in written exercises ?

Most written assessments will have some errors still. I don’t think I have ever seen a perfect response.

But it’s difficult to know how much leeway would be given. It’s really going to depend on what the errors were as some will be more serious than others.

does anyone have any advice in how to approach a tell me about yourself question at the start of an interview. especially when the interview is CV blind so this will lead the discussion. any potential structuring tips, or things to def include?

This is what is confusing me as well tbh. 🥲🥲

I saw some people discuss on the forum that we need to use personal examples. I also saw people saying we don’t need to do that and just focus on the question.

It would make sense for it to be the first one considering there isn’t a work experience section. 🥲🥲

When I asked Jessica, she said that we didn't need personal examples but I hadn't noticed there was no work experience section! I will probably weave in personal experiences in a like "this experience showed me the importance of XYZ" or stick a sentence in at the end of my paragraph linking the skill to me

Also Ropes lets us choose between 2026 and 2027 intake when applying but on the website says only 2027 - will I be disadvantaged if I pick 2026 or will they assume I would be fine with 2027 if no 2026 places?

Is anyone in the same position as me - I applied to Slaughters on 30/10 for their vac scheme but I am yet to hear back.
This despite the fact that others applied much later than me and have received invites/PFO's.

Should I assume PFO or write an email asking for updates? I felt as though my application was strong and have extensive history with the firm so I'm genuinely lost here 😭
