It might be because loads of people applied.

In the application workshop, Paul mentioned that they were anticipating 2-3,000 applications.

It could be 50% of applicants get the test. ​

Out of curiosity, to see how many ppl got the test (at least among the TCLA forum members), like this if you got a test invite for Paul, Weiss.

You can accept the role and renege closer to the time - you won't really be committed to anything until you start the onboarding process for the apprenticeship programme (e.g. when you have to start filling out forms with the training provider).

Hi Jess and everyone, do you know if it reflects poorly on me as a candidate if I revoke my application to a firm? I recently received a vac scheme offer from one of my top choice firms and have since been invited to complete an assessment for a vac scheme with another. I won't have the time to do both schemes but I am just wondering if this is fine for me to do? @Jessica Booker

Yes - you can do this, many thousands of applications are either withdrawn or not progressed from a candidate's perspective each year.

I did an Amberjack test for SH last year and it was untimed. But definitely double check as it probs differs between firms

Yeah I just sent an email to Paul so hopefully we can get confirmation before the test deadline.

Agreed, if the first stage is literally a just a SPAG check surely they will review the results next to the application... Otherwise why bother asking three questions just for the sake of checking spelling

Also just got my PW test invite and have never done an Amberjack before! Anyone able to share broadly what these are like? Is it an SJT?

It will be 12 SJT questions, 5 numerical reasoning and 5 verbal reasoning questions.

Yes, the test will be online and will consist of:

• 12 SJT questions
• 5 Applied Verbal Reasoning questions
• 5 Applied Numerical Reasoning questions
