Thank you! Is there a difference between situational questions versus situational judgment questions? I saw some were quite similar to questions I normally see in SJTs, and asking me what I would do.

I don’t think there’s a difference since they both do the same thing in my opinion - testing how you react to different situations in the workplace.

I’m unsure about HFW but I’d say a week isn’t too much of a delay when it comes to hearing back. They’re probably still collating feedback from your AC, interviewing other candidates, or juggling the other demands within an early careers team.

Is the Reed Smith test/VI pretty much automatic if you meet their minimum requirements as I don’t think anyone has got a PFO?

No, it isn't automatic. We screen every response and approximately 50% of candidates progress to the next stage.

Does anyone know if RS reviews the application form, SJT and VI all together or just the SJT and VI in deciding who to invite to AC?

Feeling like an incoming PFO with the score and mediocre VI response

We review based on the stage, so decisions on ACs are based on SJT and VI only.

I recommend reaching out to recruiters that work at recruitment agencies too, in addition to applying for vacancies at the law firm’s website directly. Some I know of are Lunaria Partners, Forte Legal, The SJP, etc.

Hey guys, In my why law answer I’m thinking of changing it to being first interested in law when reading my parents divorce settlement, then linking to commercial law through uni etc. Is that a bit far fetched?

Also, I have clinical depression and so far i haven’t declared it as a health condition on applications as I feel firms might view me as unreliable or something. It doesn’t heavily impact my daily life but obvs it might be best to be truthful. Any suggestions?

Usually call for offers. Emails if unsuccessful usually. I think offers go first in case people don’t accept and they need to pull from a reserve group
