Hi, did you end up completing this vi? Any insight/advice if did would be greatly appreciated!!Guys I have a VI with Dac Beachcroft i don't even know why I applied, their practice of areas are not my cup of tea but their application process was CV submission only. Any insights on the VI will be appreciated
Thats a great point. Thank you so much! And i'll try not to spend too much time in the loo lol incase it looks suspicious or like im doing a poo hahahano it's not tacky, but I think it's important to read the room as well - i like to print notes as well, but I've found that at some ACs, people tend to be more social rather than studying up on their notes etc. so if you're the only person who's isolating themselves during a break etc to read your notes, then that might not come across very well.
what I like to do is go to the toilet with my bag and quickly skim the notes there... lol
but other firms might let you look over notes or keep you in more of a quiet atmosphere between stages, and I think it's fine to look over your notes in those instances
I didn't yet!Hi, did you end up completing this vi? Any insight/advice if did would be greatly appreciated!!
yeahhh, of the people I know they generally don't have much advice for me. one person at my college (oxbridge sigh) has a TC, is doing 4 VSs on top, rejected a a TC offer and rejected 2 VSs (what the-). One of my friends recently got a VS but we don't discuss because she doesn't like the pressure. I've had some luck (2ACs this cycle) but I didnt get the first one and feel like I had some wobble moments in my second interview due to nerves. They wont get back until the end of the month either AHHHHHey, same. From the looks of it we may be in the same uni lol, and I've flopped so hard I'm doing a masters to stall. I think firstly you need to understand part of it is luck, but if you have been consistently "unlucky", I'd recommend finding people who have gotten a lot of offers and have a chat with them. I was kind of soloing the whole thing, and this cycle I'm looking back and seeing that a lot of my efforts were misdirected. I fixed that this time by bothering people and inviting them out to coffees (my treat). Helps wonders, truly.
I think we all got the email today so probably none of us have done it yet to be able to give any insights!I didn't yet!
I got the same thing. Taking it as a win 🙏‘Your performance was strong; however, given the exceptional talent pool this year, and with limited Assessment Centre places available, we are currently unable to offer you a place.
However, we want to assure you that your application still remains under active consideration and there is a possibility that we may still invite you to Assessment Centre at a later date.’
I’m confused is this a pfo or some sort of a waitlist?
We have 3 takes for each questions, never had that before, that def helps loads!!I think we all got the email today so probably none of us have done it yet to be able to give any insights!
How long do you have to answer each questions? 1 minute? For DAC Beachcroft I don’t think we’re allowed to share the exact questions. But you have 3 attempts for each question, and you have unlimited time between each attempt, so even if you run out of time before the first attempt you can take more time for the other 2. You get to pick which of the 3 options to submit
1 minute for the first question, 1.5 for the rest (double the time for prep, so 2 mins then 3 for the rest)How long do you to answer each questions? 1 minute?
Yess I think we should!! Altho tbf i always struggle not to get my hopes up in such situations and then getting rejected stings even more lolI got the same thing. Taking it as a win 🙏
Whether it counts against you or not depends on how you answer the question I guess? If you say that the experience taught you about law in general, however you realised public law wasn't the best option to your skillset / interests etc then it can count for you?also idk if anybody has had this, but I assist at a legal clinic and did some work for a charity over the summer and in my recent interview I got the sense they thought I wasn't into commercial law enough. I was asked a lot of why not public law and how will you deal with morally reprehensible clients. can experience count against you? I also have some commercial experience, spoke about a deal I enjoyed + why, studied economics at a level like o.o
