Just had my final PFO post AC, which officially marks the end of this cycle and my third cycle overall.
I'm so lost right now and I just don't understand where I'm going wrong. I've got a first class degree from a RG university, spent a year abroad, have 8 months working as a paralegal, was...
This is more for future reference as I've completed my interview now but I was asked as a two point question "why commercial law and specifically why this firm?"
As I didn't want to ramble on and give 3 points for each, I cut it down to 2 for each point. Should I have just given all three? I...
I had an interview today and the final question was "do you have anything more you'd like us to consider."
I replied no and had the chance to move onto my own questions. Was this is a mistake? I don't feel I had anything more to add and had covered everything in my interview but am now worried...
Kinda following on from this point, how do you write an executive summary?
Say if you were using one, would you go straight into a heading with “executive summary” and a brief summary of your findings?
Do written exercises require intros?
For example, if I was asked to give advice to a client, would you start with niceties? Or go straight into an executive summary? Does an executive summary require a heading?
Sorry, I’m so unfamiliar will all this!
@Jessica Booker I’ve finally got a AC this cycle but it’s for a firm I had one for last year (don’t know if I’m suited to that firm or what haha).
Would they know this when they selected me for the AC? I don’t know if another member of the grad rec would have looked through my application?
I’m...
This is very cliché advice and probably unhelpful, but I would just answer honestly and don’t overthink them.
On the first one I did, I tried to second guess what was the “right answer” and what the firm would want me to do. I ended up having poor marks on each of the pillars. The time I...
Why would you say lol out of interest?
Because you thought you were likely to get in, the process was bad, or you just weren’t bothered at this stage? Sorry if I’m missing something obvious!
Football isn't my thing so can't advise there but honestly agree that it sounds like a good answer!
You've backed it up and linked it to attributes a firm would look for and like @3000to1shoteverytime said, it's way better than the cliche answers firms will usually hear!
I don’t even blame them either. Trainees are going to very busy people and helping a stranger try and advance on an application is a lot of effort unless you’ve already got a connection or built some rapport with them.
I stumbled upon this on TikTok and wondered if this post was actually accurate as it strikes me as somewhat forced/inane?
I’m not disputing that 1, 3, and 5 are good points, I just think 2 and 4 are weird. How will connecting with graduate recruitment on LinkedIn help you at all? They’re not...
