W&I's are the biggest thing here - remember that, if you're suggesting resorting to an APA that could add enormous amounts of cost and hassle to the deal, so be aware of the implications of your suggestions. Try not to overcomplicated these things either, keeping it simple is generally the...

If you really have to it's not the end of the world, but try and avoid it unless it is strictly necessary.

I paralegal full time currently and will continue to be fulk time while doing a couple of GDL modules (long story...) this year. I'll drop to probably 3 days a week while doing the LPC, which I've been told will be pretty full on, but personally thrive when I'm under a bit more pressure to be...

Completely agree here - always recommend drafting in a competent word processor - eg Google Docs, MSWord or Apple Sheets - and then copying and pasting responses over when you're satisfied with them. Using tools like word counters, in-built spelling/ grammar/ syntax checkers, etc make it a lot...

Responses like this should absolutely be written in prose. They are testing your ability to draft in a clear, concise manner by giving you short word counts in responses like this.

I think by phone is the best from a politeness perspective (think breaking up by text...), and then theyre likely to ask you to follow up with something in writing thereafter.

2020-21 Direct Training Contract Applications Discussion

This has definitely been a very very tough cycle for applicants - put it this way, I'm exceptionally relieved I wasn't competing in it this year. I've spoken to a lot of people who have said it's been one of the worst cycles for applicants since the financial crisis.

Taking advantage of work experience section

I agree with @Lumree here - it's really important to frame things in terms of positive impact and provable record. Think of it this way: me saying to you "In this job I was tasked with X, Y and Z" doesn't actually tell you anything valuable, because it doesn't probe that I did those things...

You can renege, but you'll almost certainly need to repay any money the firm has spent on eg your GDL etc

TCLA General Discussion Thread #2 (2021)

Talking with some personal experience of the "really ill and shouldn't have gone to interview but did anyway and it all went pear-shaped" situation, I can completely, 100% empathise here. When you're in the midst of a situation like that, decision making and prioritisation become extremely...
