    Fourth Time’s the Charm?

Hey! Thank you, I really appreciate that. I actually received a rejection from Travers last Friday! Hopefully your application will get progressed to interview, best of luck with it! :)

    Fourth Time’s the Charm?

Hi all! Hope you’re all having a good start to the week. I thought I’d start one of these threads for my TC journey, having been applying since 2016, as a way of documenting how I’m doing this year compared to previous cycles. Bit about me, had a rough last few years (a job in admin that...

Norton Rose Fulbright Winter Vac App

I think that I put my undergraduate referee under Referee 1 and my employer reference in Reference 2; didn’t seem to cause any issues! :) Edit: The disclaimer only seems to apply to the first field I should mention!

Hearing Back from Law Firms, Assessment Centres & Interview Tips - 2019 - 2020

Curious if anyone has heard back from Travers Smith for the Winter Vac Scheme? :)

Norton Rose Fulbright Nrf telephone interview

Hey! I just got the email and have mine next Monday; won’t be the best source of information for it but best of luck with yours! :)

    Linklaters 2019/20 Application

It looks like they’ll ask some for some additional information before interview or maybe to coincide with it. It is all a little in the air to say the least!

    Happy World Mental Health Day!

I think at the end of the round of applications just gone I said to my girlfriend that I don't know what I'll do if I don't get a TC this time around. I was probably lower than ever and I think the mere thought of the interviews started to make me tear up. Turns out, I just started them again...

    Linklaters 2019/20 Application

No problem at all! :) In truth, the critical thinking element is a good rehearsal for the main WG test. I've yet to hear anything since the 18th of September when I was emailed that my application was under review. Application portal still says 'on hold'.

    Linklaters 2019/20 Application

Hi! It's a WG style test so it includes some of the elements of the WG but is not the full-fat test. The actual WG test is indeed separate as it unlocks after the critical thinking test. :)

    Travers Smith Cover Letter

Hi All, I'm currently typing up my cover letter for Travers Smith's Winter Vac Scheme and it notes: IMPORTANT: Do not sign the cover letter with your name. Am I to take this to mean that adding my details (name and address) in the top right and signing off "yours sincerely" then my name are...

    Law Firm Events

Hi everyone, I saw a thread that talked about events at law firms that aren’t necessarily open days and thought I would just create this thread to help people find events that they may want to apply to! I would definitely recommend anyone aware of other events post them to collate a nice list...

    Linklaters 2019/20 Application

Hi Josh, My memory is surprisingly bad right now, but from what I recall, you go directly into the CAPP assessment from after completing the online form. I completed it immediately after I accessed it and I believe that you are required to complete it in one sitting, although I may be mistaken...

    Linklaters 2019/20 Application

No problem at all! :) As Jessica says, the main body of the Capp assessment is not really something that can be prepared for as they look at how your attributes align with their agile framework. I would absolutely, wholeheartedly second Jessica’s point about doing it at your best. I did mine in...

    Linklaters 2019/20 Application

Hi! If you’re referring to the assessment that places you into the role of a fictional trainee then yup, I completed it last week! Surprisingly intuitive and engaging, it’ll act as an SJT and has a critical reasoning test as the final component. More-or-less, you’ll be asked to review...

    Welcome! Introduce yourself here :)

Hi all! My name (shock horror) is James, I graduated from the University of Kent in 2018 and still searching for that elusive training contract! Had a bit of a horror journey even before university (significant adverse developments in my health with chronic health issues meant I was held back...
