Completely untrue. I was told this as well, particularly at a larger firm - “why would they make you a trainee if they can keep you on cheaper as a paralegal!” and comments like that. Paralegal Application Timeline & Expectations Hearing Back From Firms?
It really can take weeks and mean nothing either way. All it takes is a partner being busy or on leave and before you know it you’re three weeks down the line. If you’re using a recruiter just nudge them once a week for an update and keep on looking in the meantime.- TC fiend

I wouldn’t tbh. Partners are super busy, and frankly they are often even quite far removed from the juniors at their own firm, let alone from you. Unless you’ve spoken to them personally before I would just let it go.- TC fiend

You can always ask but be prepared for them to say no if it is the last slot. Perhaps go for a short walk before to wake you up a bit? I understand it’s a far from ideal time but unfortunately there’s also times in practice when you have meetings at stupid times so it may be one of those times...- TC fiend
