Thanks for the thoughts - there's no commute per se, as it's online (although realistically I wouldn't feel comfortable doing an interview for a different firm from the firm's office, so I'd need to find a location elsewhere, which would probably add around 15 minutes to my downtime).
As I...
Is there usually 'free time' in a VS schedule!? I have a four-day VS, and a firm has invited me for Zoom interview & online assessment during that time, lasting a rather excessive 90 minutes.
I have said "er, I'm doing a VS", and they've replied "sorry we're busy and can't offer you any other...
100%.
For example an online group exercise that I did was about the green belt. The instructions were to NOT do background research
As it happened people were mistaken in their understanding of green belt, which is specifically about defined 'belts' around about half-a-dozen named cities , and...
Hi,
I think you will find some tips on here about converting VS in general.
When I spoke to the firm they cited that their VS students were competing with their paralegals for places, and that while the paralegals are more experienced, they sometimes don't understand the business that well...

Thank you for completing the Amberjack assessment for your Stephenson Harwood application.
Unforunately, your overall score has not met our criteria and we are unable to progress you to the next stage of the process on this occasion.

It seems rather different in that normally you either sign a direct TC leading to guaranteed qualification as a solicitor, a title you can keep for the rest of your life and be eligible for NQS roles at the end, or you spend a few days on a VS pursuant to the same goal, whereas with this it...
I'm not really sure if it is permanent employment - at least previously the LBA was effectively a fixed-term 12-month paralegal role, but, uniquely, they would offer some candidates a further 12-month 'training contract', to take advantage of the fact that training contracts don't really exist...
Looks like this is more of an undergraduate-only work experience program than a VS - it doesn't appear to lead to permanent employment, and graduates appear to be excluded.
