I've done this in applications successfully - as with most things, the question is what it says on the tin. What is *your* proudest achievement? If that's coming through a particular stage in your life that was difficult, then of course it's fine. :)
This app cycle, I applied for an open day at HSF and was rejected. I decided to apply for their WVS anyway and made it to the AC stage.
I wouldn't rule out a VS place just because you were rejected for the open day!
I was initially rejected for Linklaters' WVS, but received an email on Friday saying that, because I had a strong application, they wondered whether I would be happy to be reconsidered for their Spring or Summer VSs.
Did anyone else get this?
I also got an invite to their open day, but yesterday. For me the email said that there is potential for rail disruption so they'll keep under consideration whether to hold the day online. I received an email today saying they've moved it online.
They're not lying to you, and congrats! :)
That would make some sense! If GR is waiting for feedback though, and others on the AC have been rejected or accepted shortly after, how will the person providing the feedback one week later for one candidate (with presumably a less fresh memory of the interview) be fair?
