Is it wise to apply to the White and Case open day, (hopefully) attend, and then apply for the VS after in late november? I'm not sure whether that would help my application or hinder it, given they accept on a rolling basis. I have limited legal work experience.
For the A&O employment/work experience section how much should we write in the responsibilities and skills box? Should this be written in a factual style (like a CV) or more of a persuasive style (like a cover letter). And is it okay if this overlaps with the later question about skills gained...
If I have completed work experience at a different top city law firm than the one I am applying to should I state the name of the firm on a cover letter? I am worried this might make it seem like I have a greater interest in the other firm. Or is this standard practice? Thanks!
I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to tailor applications to a specific firm? I can write about how my skill set suits a trainee role in general but I'm struggling to tailor this to specific firm. They all seem to require broadly the same skill set. Any advice would be appreciated!
