I applied for Ashurst DTC in my penultimate year with basically no legal experience and got to the final interview, so I’d say you should go for it! I don’t think they explicitly say you need a certain amount of experience like some other firms unless things have changed. But they offer a...
They used to run a winter scheme, so if they had 15 on each that could be how they filled TC spots. Maybe they'll take more for summer this year and just haven't updated FAQs, not sure
I don’t think they have a direct process, I know you can select that on the form but think it has to be in combination with a VS application. Their page says “To secure a training contract you should first apply for our vacation scheme”, but maybe email to confirm?
I actually didn’t contact the 5, they just ended up being online. I agree it’s helpful to check, but I don’t think we should automatically assume ACs will be in person.

I did it a few years ago, if the online one is still written, the main difference is the partner one is discussed in the interview. You have some time to make notes (I think it was around 15mins), but you’re assessed by discussing/answering questions
In terms of SullCrom, I do think they consider DTC, when I contacted them last year about whether to apply for the VS this was the response I got:
“As you are not currently in education, I would suggest you apply direct for a training contract.
Online applications open May 1, 2025, through...
