Requesting an early start TC

Hello

I will be completing the LPC in June and my vacation scheme ends in July. If I do convert it to a TC, I would like to start in 2023. Is it advisable to send a request/discuss with HR now or wait till after the vac scheme?

I would be grateful if someone could suggest how best to go about this, thanks!

I would wait until you have an offer of a TC, unless explicitly asked whether you want to start early.

Alternatively you would informally state that you would be interested in starting a TC earlier, but I wouldn’t request it, just state your preference and enquire whether the firm thinks this could be a possibility (but I would wait to do this during your scheme).
