GDL or MA Law?

Hi guys!

Not sure this is the right place to post this, but does anybody know if there is any actual difference between these two conversion courses - GDL and MA law? Are they both accepted as a valid conversion route from firms?

The difference is one is only a PGDip qualification (you won't get PG student loans for it) while the MA is a Masters.

To be a Masters, it basically means you just do an additional set of modules (usually one 20-40 credit module, in the form of a dissertation type assignment).

Most MA courses (if they are 1 year) are just a marketing ploy more than anything and to meet the student loan requirements mentioned above so that more students sign up to the course.

Both are completely valid routes - law firms won't give a damn whether you have done one or the other.
