I've got an Open Evening tomorrow but, alas, tragedy has struck as I have realised I've hit the weights a bit too hard this year and my suit no longer fits me 😭 (obviously I'm an idiot and should've tried it on sooner). Will I will be able to get away with a shirt, nice quarter zip, smart trousers + shoes or am I doomed?

Did they give you a dress code for the event?

I think that if they did not specify any dress code (or they say smart casual) I think that it is totally fine to wear your second choice (which I think is elegant as well) so do not worry too much. I would email graduate recruitment if you are unsure tho, just to be on the safer side.

Sounds like your second option is fine! I saw a few people dressed like this at open days/evenings I attended
