How did you know that? Legal cheek says they'll accept 25 candidates for training contract in London each year.

Because I talked to them, it is 25 across two years, they take 50% from each and from my AC (last year) [there was 9 people] and they took 6. This is directly from Pippa, part of the Early Careers. (also about 1600 applications if anyone really wants the numbers)

Well I got an invite for SHL 'General Ability' test.

It says "pen and paper & calculator required". However I'd probably use Excel & Windows Notepad.
Anyone know the rules here!?

Rest well before the test, stay focus, and do not get distracted during the test.

SHL has time limit, so it'd be way more difficult than Amberjack even W&G.

Yet, it's not tricky as Pymetrics and Plum. It's used by large corporates such as Amazon and Bain & Co.

Reminder:

• DO NOT leave/refresh the page if you are about to start the interview

If you do either, it'll be marked as complete even though you haven't even seen the question or submit it.

If the situation persist, you have to contact the SHL tech support team directly to redo the interview, the firm has not authorised for this case.

Dependent on the company, but I applied for non law firms that use SHL, so the recruitment cycles might be different. I had vi, sjt, and reasoning test in one sitting. I only applied SH for a lawfirm as i'm international and my hollistic profile matters.

lol my guess is probably 30-80s, i applied role that had 11,541 applicants and invited only 2% to VI.

Having received and accepted a TC offer, I wanted to thank everyone on the forum for all of your advice, support and guidance. To those waiting to hear back or are planning their next application cycle, please do not give up and good luck - I wish you all success!

I'm planning to sit the SQE this upcoming September and I was wondering if anyone has any guidance on the structure of the course - i.e., I know this is firm dependent but would it be possible to paralegal and complete the SQE on a full-time basis? @Ram Sabaratnam do you have any advice on this?

The firm are sponsoring and their SQE course is Ulaw - they prefer full time in person and my aim is to sit SQE1 in Jan. I don't have a paralegal job right now but I've heard people working full time and studying for the SQE together.

I studied and did a full-time job with the SQE 1 and it was brutal especially if you are starting in September and planning to sit in January. The months will fly away in a blink of an eye. It's not about the subjects but the way you need to study for it, in the sense of practice questions, memorise and revise.
