Huge congratulations on landing a final partner interview with Sidley for their winter VS - that’s an incredible achievement and a real testament to your hard work and talent! 🥳

You’ve already come so far, and making it to this stage means they clearly see something special in you. Final partner interviews are all about fit, so be yourself, stay grounded in your motivations, and show them more of what they have already seen!

You’ve got this - we’ll be rooting for you! :)

Got invited to a Sidley Austin final partner interview for WVS.

Hi! Huge congrats on reaching the final partner interview — that’s a fantastic achievement! 🎉

A few tips:
  • Know your application inside out: partners often like to dig into your motivations, experiences, and anything you’ve mentioned in your form/cover letter.
  • Prepare on Sidley itself: be clear on why Sidley over other US firms — think about their key strengths (funds, restructuring, private equity, cross-border work) and their culture.
  • Commercial awareness: be ready to discuss a recent story, trend, or deal and link it to Sidley’s practice. They may not test you formally, but they’ll expect you to show curiosity and awareness.
  • Be yourself with confidence: partners often look for long-term potential and whether they could see you fitting into the firm, so try to show your personality as well as professionalism.
