Guys hi! Could someone please help me figure out what 1st and 2:1 correspond to on the 4/4 GPA scale. Universities seem to have differing requirements depending on which country the degree was received from (ie Oxford requires a 3.6 from Turkey for 1st while LSE requires a 3.5 and QMUL requires a 3.3), so I’m not sure what to write on my TC applications.

For reference, I earned my LLB degree in Turkey with a 3.48 and my LLM degree in the United States with a 3.46.
Based on RG uni like Warwick, your LLB is first and LLM is 2:1. For more details you can visit:
• Turkey: https://warwick.ac.uk/study/international/admissions/entry-requirements/turkey
• USA: https://warwick.ac.uk/study/international/admissions/entry-requirements/usa (consistent across uni board)

I think you can email the GR team to clarify, as long as you can attach a valid reference, not just word of mouth of the grading system. Usually, they will accept what most uni standard used like.

I received my FF skills report. My highest scores were

Championing our clients and giving them the edge

Delivering extraordinary outcomes

We thrive as a team

My weakest qualities were:

Embracing transformation

Challenging ourselves

Am I cooked?

Hi everyone!

When video interview/ app answers ask about recent developments that could affect clients, I want to make sure I’m focusing on the right kinds of news.

In your experience, what are the most relevant types of updates to draw on for these questions? For example, do you usually reference things like regulatory changes, shifts in interest rates, major geopolitical developments, new industry-specific regulations, or broader market/economic trends?
But more specifically: which current topics do you think are most value-adding to bring up in an interview?

I’d love to hear what you personally look out for or any go-to sources you use to stay prepared. Any insight would be much appreciated @Abbie Whitlock
@Andrei Radu

Thank you so much!

For slaughters how are people structuring their CV? I’m thinking education, legal wex, non legal wex, extra curriculars, positions of responsibility and achievements? Would you include a sector on legal events like open days?
There is a Video explaining this. They mention that Open days and Virtual Work Experiences are equally important to display your proactiveness and commitment to commercial law. Thus, I'm making a separate sub-heading for it.

I was wondering has anyone attended panel discussion and networking event organised by law firms that are targeted at people in a specific industry (rather than aspiring solicitors)? I'm a non-law student and have registered for one coming up. I'm hoping to gain more insights into the practice area I'm interested in. I assume there won't be any student attending, and I was wondering what conversation topics/questions I could ask when speaking with someone during the networking session? Since I'm just a student and the attendees will be much more senior than me, I don't think it's appropriate to ask anything related to applications. What type of questions could I ask to better understand the firm, its culture etc.? Any example questions or general tips in such events would be very much appreciated! Really worried about being awkward during the event @Abbie Whitlock
