Firms that care less about grades

Hi everyone,

I graduated in 2024 with an LLB in Law from a Russell Group university. My grades were mostly in the 50s and 60s, but I achieved a 2:1 overall. I also have strong work experience, but I suspect that my applications might be rejected mainly because of my grades.

Could anyone share which law firms tend to be more flexible or holistic when it comes to academic results especially for vacation schemes or training contracts?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

hey I would recommend applying to firms which do not have a minimum requirement for example, -

Osborne clarke
BCLP
DLA Piper
Hill dickinson
King & Spalding
Ropes and Gray
CMS
HFW
Irwin Mitchell
Mills and Reeve
Reed smith focuses on overall 2.1

idk a lot about US firms but I have seen many students progress with 2.2s at US firms even firms like Cleary....

Honestly it could be 50-50 grades are important but I think focusing on your commercial answer is more important, like I have resits but I progressed with bclp.
