TCLA Vacation Scheme Applications Discussion Thread 2025-26

If bank station has 1,000 haters, I’m one of them. If bank station has 1 hater it’s me. If bank station has 0 haters, I’m no longer around… If bank station no longer exists, I’ll be happy…

That station has to be the most confusing place to exist. It’s literally like a maze with exits going in every direction except the one I needed. Idk how people handle commuting every day lmao.

One of my first ever open days was at BCLP and I got off the tube at Bank (after getting the train from Manchester to Euston station). It took me a good 25 mins to figure out where the exit was…

Every time I change trains at an Underground station I'm thinking "I bet they've sent me on a long way round for crowd control reasons, I need to work out the optimal path here for next time".

[I never actually do this.]

Just received my offer for a vac scheme at a firm i like. Really delighted obviously, but ive also done ACs for other firms and awaiting their responses. Would posting on linkedin that i got an offer from X firm negatively impact the other firms' applications if they see it? Dont wanna look like im not interested in their firms by accepting a diff VS, so deciding if i should just hold off from posting

Do we have any info on Orrick’s WG? I assume it’s timed but anything else? Is it a regular WG or expected to be hard?
It’s a WG on steroids but maybe I’m biased cos me and the WG don’t get along at all it seems… :(

I’m alr assuming it’s a PFO for Orrick cos there’s no way I’m passing that WG at all lmao.

Hi!

No need to apologise at all! :)

I am really sorry to hear this - that's such a frustrating situation, especially when it is out of your control.

It is highly unlikely that they would hold this against you next year, particularly if you have been transparent about the situation. If there is genuinely only one AC date, that is a logistical issue that is out of your control.

If you do withdraw, I would thank them for the opportunity, briefly explain the unavoidable work commitment, and reiterate your interest in the firm and reapplying. The graduate recruitment team understand that people have other commitments alongside the process, so they'll be understanding!

Getting to the AC stage shows that you are a strong candidate - I'm sure you'll have plenty more success moving forward :)
Thank you so much for replying, really appreciate it :)

WHY DOES EVERYONE HAVE ACs AND OFFERS EXCEPT FOR ME?? MY INBOX IS SO DRYYYYY 😭 😭 😭 Excuse the crash out, I've been at this for months and I'm losing brain cells in the process of selling my soul to several different firms for a mere chance of an internship

**Now back to the routine all night grind to finish YET ANOTHER 1,500 word app for a 5 DAY WORK EXPERIENCE PLACEMENT 😭😭😭

Congrats! I'm in the same boat as you and decided I'm going to wait till I hear back from the other ACs - but don't let that deter you lol
