TCLA Vacation Scheme Applications Discussion Thread 2025-26

Ahh okay thanks for letting me know! Seems a bit mad but I guess they still have another round, so want to start on those as well
Since there's still one final stage to go, I don't think it's so unreasonable. First of all, we can work backwards from what we know. There are 10 training contracts available, so let's assume 20 to 30 candidates make it to final interview? That's 20 to 30 hours they have to schedule for a group of about six partners I think on the trainee committee, so that's a big time commitment. Prior to that, they're interviewing maybe I don't know, 60 to 90 people at first interview stage? It'd be a scheduling nightmare if you waited for the entire round of first interviews to be done before sending out invites for final round interviews.

Also, while the number of training contracts available is fixed, I doubt there's a set number of final interview slots. If I had to guess though, they'll probably wait to interview everyone before giving out final TC offers, but that's a complete guess, so don't quote me on that; I have zero verifiable insight on how this process works and everything I know is largely from inference of past year forum posts.

Tell us about a personal achievement outside of law that you’re proud of. What did it teach you? (250 words) - Really struggling with this as I feel most of my achievements are somewhat law related e.g things I've done in my legal work experience or degree. I've got non-legal work experience but nothing is standing out as to what i'm proud of 😆

Im curious about this one as well. Would mentoring a peer in a subject during studies be a sufficient example for this?
