Hi,
I am applying for a firm internally and I have to answer the question below.

Explain your role and your key achievements to date.
Consider what are your strengths, what are your development area/goals, what are your ambitions?

How should I approach this question?

Do I discuss work based achievements or general? Do I talk about the development within my role?
Ambition - its to become a solicitor but how do I expand that?

How long have you been in the role? Is your role permanent?

I’ve been working as an Admin Assistant for 6 months and I’m in talks for a promotion after the training contract deadline.
I think you approach it no differently to if you were applying as an external applicant really then.

Its a lot to fit into one answer, so just take section and make sure you cover them all.

1. Achievements - do I discuss the one in my currently role?
2. What sort of development or goal should I talk about? Do I talk about how I want to progress within the role or specific tasks etc?

3. Ambition - I want to be a solicitor Ofc but how do I expand that when talking about ambition ?

I am confused. Is this per work experience section or just a general question?

As it is the same sentence, the role and key achievements are connected, so I would only provide rerferences to your current role.

With your ambitions, you'll need to dig deeper into why you want to be a solicitor. I often recommend using the "five why's" approach to get down to the specific detail that is really you ambition, rather than the specific "goal" of being a solicitor.

Explaination of the Five Whys can be found here: Five whys - Wikipedia
