GENERAL: Winter vs summer vac schemes

Hi! I just wanted to know whether it was easier to get into winter vac schemes rather than summer ones in general?

I have the impression that more people apply for the summer (and spring) ones given that winter deadlines are really early into the year - so in terms of numbers, wouldn’t it be more difficult to stand out for the summer apps?

Unfortunately it really isn’t that binary - so many factors will influence how many applicants and spaces there are in winter and summer schemes, and those variables will make make it vary from firm to firm and even from recruitment cycle to recruitment cycle.

Also, firms still apply the same high standards no matter how many applications they receive, so the “competitiveness” will be driven by that quality rather than the number of applications.
