Firm listed in The Legal 500 rankings in 2020 but not in 2021

Hi - does anyone know what it means if a law firm is listed in top tiers 1 and 2 and as leading individuals in 2020 but do not appear anywhere in The Legal 500 rankings in 2021? Thank you.

Rankings aren't always accurate or consistent and there are other factors that are taken into account than just volume/quality of work- I wouldn't take this to mean anything about the firm on its own. Tagging @Jessica Booker for her thoughts as well.

I am not entirely sure how these things work from a general marketing perspective, but if it is anything like the graduate recruitment rankings, the firm could just have decided to not take part in the rankings for 2021 and that is why they are not included.
