I don’t know but can I jump on your question and ask if anyone knows what the Ropes & Gray test is? E.g. SJT, WG or Arctic Shores?

I find it funny that everyone has seemingly gone for Cooley this cycle. Definitely a lot of groupthink. 🤣

It is true that BCLP seems to be Rolling with a capital ‘R’. Could still be worth a shot though with a strong application.

Hi @Jessica Booker! I am looking to apply to Travers Smith. The ‘box’ for their cover letter on the application form is 1000 words max, and I’ve written exactly 1000 words. Is that ok? It says the answer should be your cover letter, and I know 1000 words is long for the cover letter. It also...

Obviously wait for official advice on here, but couldn’t you talk about the PE workshop, and not explicitly name the other firm? I don’t see why you’d need too.

I’m in the same boat. I think they’ve only sent PFOs to those who failed to get the benchmark on their SGT. Those who then weren’t progressed after screening haven’t been sent PFOs yet…

I went to the open day at Trowers and they say they look at each application alongside the test result to decide who to progress to AC. So I don’t think the test is pass/fail.

Did Macfarlanes test and got credibility, personal responsibility and adaptability as key strengths, and explainer as my lowest scoring which is interesting! Anyone get anything similar?

As far as I know they should disclose to you whether it’s timed/untimed. However “unlimited time”/“no time limit” does not mean it’s untimed.

Just did the OC verbal reasoning test and not happy with it. Wondering if anyone has had a similar experience in a previous cycle. I’m very happy with my written application, one of my best, and they say they view applications holistically. Do I stand any chance?

Ask Willkie Farr & Gallagher Anything!

I didn’t know the q’s beforehand and did mine in January. I’m sure that’s the same for most people.

There are of course some firms that it’s much better to apply early- and some are honest and say they don’t necessarily read every application (Bird & Bird, Simmons & Simmons). BUT I keep hearing of people who get ACs who applied on deadline day, for even top firms. So I agree with generally...
