Hi @bear88, congratulations on your telephone interview!!
I do not know about DLA Piper specifically, but in my experience, telephone interviews were sort of a middle ground between a video interview and a face-to-face interview!
In both the telephone interviews I did, I had to answer some...
First of all, congratulations @LEL and @thirdtimelucky on securing vacation schemes! It is an exciting position to be in where you are about to experience the inner workings of a commercial law firm for the first time :)
I have seen some great suggestions on this topic and I think that the...
I think usually the second interview (for those who progress) will be considered primarily in isolation. I know some firms where they look back at notes from an earlier interview if a candidate is on the borderline.
Haha usually I got this in an interview so 250 words is a bit tight - maybe I took the wrong approach but I would always treat it as a very broad motivational question and go through how my life interests/experiences have led up to me making this application!
I think a polite update is fine and some firms even want their vac schemers to do this for marketing purposes! A long emotional post thanking every friend and family member is personally not my favourite thing to come across on LinkedIn though 🤣
Also I find the 'Offer Holder' updates weird and...
I think there are three points at which you can work to prevent nerves negatively impacting your AC:
1. In the days/weeks leading up to your AC
The first key to avoiding the wrong type of nerves is to be really well prepared. Now, this sounds obvious right? Well, the fact is that you will have...
I do not know about Denton's specifically, but in my experience, telephone interviews were sort of a middle ground between a video interview and a face-to-face interview!
In both the telephone interviews I did, I had to answer some questions about myself and my motivations as well as a range of...

Hi @Amanpreet Kaur! I have written on how to prepare for paralegal interviews here, and I think the main to think about for an in-house role is that you need to demonstrate a sincere enthusiasm for the work the company is doing as it will be all you are working on!
They may wish to know whether...
Perhaps @Jessica Booker will know what a skills assessment would entail? I could imagine it being anything from an online test to a competency interview, which isn't very helpful!
If it is non-rolling then it would not matter when you submit! Nevertheless, I obviously don't recommend leaving it to the last minute although I was guilty of doing that myself on occasion...
A lot of direct TC apps with spring/summer deadlines are non-rolling! Because a direct TC interview is the final stage of the process and the firm does not need to onboard candidates to a vac scheme, it is often easier for them to review apps altogether. If it is rolling then the standard as...
I wouldn't think it would necessarily be a write-off but could you e-mail them to let them know that you unintentionally pressed stop recording? They may let you do the first question again
Hi @M991, this is an excellent question and you seem to have given yourself a pretty spot on answer as part of your second question 😊
To structure an article interview, I would start by providing an overview of the key issues in my opinion, before explaining the broader significance and the...
Hi @CorporateLaw101, congratulations on getting your first AC!! I remember that moment (including the exact day and time 🤣) for me - it is a big step in this process and one that you should be proud of :)
My first tip is not to stress yourself out too much! Make sure you read up well on the...
The trial of our Starred Thread Awards was a huge success and we received some excellent responses to the Texas Two-Step thread and the thread on the Bruce Springsteen Music Catalogue from @IRO and @gilo amongst others!
