In this interactive session, Maya Shah, Senior Early Careers Specialist at Ropes & Gray, will walk you through every stage of the firm's application process.
Willkie’s new graduate recruiter and two trainees will break down what the firm looks for at the interview stage, common pitfalls to avoid,
and how you can demonstrate confidence, clarity, and genuine motivation throughout an assessment centre.
They are not prioritising universities, they are prioritising grades. If you need high A-level grades to apply, then the vast majority of candidates are going to come from universities that also have that requirement.
Give them a call first thing tomorrow morning. Explain you have another assessment centre on that day and ask if they have any flexibility for other dates as you would be really keen to find an alternative date. There are many times in which these things can be moved around a bit, so I'd be...
I'd like to congratulate @h1 for being this week's winner for this post.
We love how supportive a post like this is for the TCLA community - it's really great to see an inclusive post like this that takes into account everyone's experience in this crazy recruitment journey. We know that posts...
No worries! All choatic at this time of year with the recruitment process - its hard to keep an accurate track of anything.
I only know the deadlines due to application reviews of late 😆
You’ve got to be in it to win it. Not applying means the earliest chance you’ll have is in 10-11 months time and that won't be for something that starts until the summer of next year (nearly an 18 month wait!).
If you like the firm, I would still apply. With only roughly 13 trainee spots, I would expect most of their TCs are recruited through vac schemes given those numbers.

Same advice, sit it out until the 11th or 12th working day since you did the assessment and then contact them and politely ask if they can provide details of when you will hear back (rather than asking for an update).
They won't make a decision based on you asking unless you are exceptionally...
I would say it is usually within two weeks. I'd wait until either Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning before contacting them though (rather than tomorrow).
I would take the song title as your subconscious mind telling you to be patient about this process 🤣
I sometimes dream in cartoon format with me as my TCLA avatar
I'd still generally avoid them then, if you can. It's not a big issue, but it doesn't make it as easy to read if it just has * at the start of a sentence.
They probably see it enough if that is the case. How much it impacts your application is hard to say though.
Basically, avoid copying bullet points in as that's where the formatting goes haywire. If you can format bullet points in the application system, then it shouldn't go haywire (like you...
I would only do it if you can format it like you can in this post
Like this
And this
If you are having to copy bullet points in and the formatting goes a bit crazy, then I'd generally avoid it.
