They are probably busy/have a lot of people messaging, or could also be on holiday. I wouldn’t say it’s indicative of the firm’s culture. I spoke to one of the LBAs last year, she was really helpful, and spoke positively about the culture- Z48

Just to add, even firms that have these strict requirements consider mitigating circumstances, so I would still apply and give details! I got to Cleary’s WG last year with some 2:2 modules and a mid 2:1 overall- Z48

Haven’t worked on the recruitment side but this is how I see it, hope I make sense! For cappfinity, I think they use similar scoring to amberjack but we just don’t see the scores. So in the below example in a cappfinity report I’d just be told my strengths = applied intellect and digital...- Z48

I’d normally agree with this but Gibson Dunn has this on their FAQs: To secure a training contract you should first apply for our vacation scheme but training contract will be open for those unable to participate in the programme. I’d take that as the majority of offers going to VS...- Z48

I don’t think they have a direct process, I know you can select that on the form but think it has to be in combination with a VS application. Their page says “To secure a training contract you should first apply for our vacation scheme”, but maybe email to confirm?- Z48

I actually didn’t contact the 5, they just ended up being online. I agree it’s helpful to check, but I don’t think we should automatically assume ACs will be in person. There isn’t always a chance to ask beforehand, some firms don’t reply to emails for ages, and waiting could mean missing the...- Z48

I did 5 ACs/interviews this cycle, only 1 was in person. I was also travelling at the start of the cycle and most firms I contacted said they could offer online ACs, so this is not necessarily a correct assumption.- Z48

I applied with a few 2:2 grades in first and second year + mitigating circumstances and got through to the telephone interview for the VS a couple years ago (my average was a 2:1 when I applied). I would say go for it, especially with your 1st overall!- Z48

In my experience it’s just a standard part of their process. If you don’t have your results for that academic year when you apply, they sometimes wait for the grades before assessing your application. If you haven’t had that email they might not have gotten to your application yet- Z48

I did it a few years ago, if the online one is still written, the main difference is the partner one is discussed in the interview. You have some time to make notes (I think it was around 15mins), but you’re assessed by discussing/answering questions- Z48
