That’d be extra work for grad rec and they prefer to keep things rly ambiguous. They probs read these forums and see our daily crash-outs over whether they’re rolling or non-rolling and be like:
Dear [insert name],
“Thank you for your application for a place on the Gibson Dunn Vacation Scheme and for completing our online Capptivate Law Assessment. Following the completion of your assessment you will be sent a feedback report. Please note, this will not be sent instantly and may take a...
I got a notif from Candid and I was all excited cos I thought finally I’ve got an app update but it turned out it was just a reminder from Travers… smdh 🥲
I saw someone got theirs last week and they’d only applied two weeks prior. Others waited 6-8 weeks so it’s all over the place lmao. I sent my app early Dec and haven’t heard since.
This is how I know we’re in the trenches of apps cos why have the grammar brigade appeared out of thin air policing people using abbreviations like surely yous can’t be that bored lmao…
Hey guys, it’s me again lmao. It’s been a slow week so not an awful lot has happened.

Apps that were rejections:
Jones Day Winter VS post app
HSF Kramer Winter VS post test
Paul, Weiss Winter VS post...

July/Aug 2027: graduate from non-law degree
September 2027: begin the PGDL course
July/Aug 2028: finish the PGDL...
My mind has gone completely blank. For AllHires apps, where it asks for us to enter work history in chronological order (most recent first), is this from the start date, end date or both? I’ve looked at my other apps but it lowkey looks like my entries have been mixed up lmfao. Does anyone have...
Firms: hey we’ve simplified our app process and so now we’re only gna ask for work experiences and academics, i.e., no more long written questions.
Me: ayy that’s light work let me get started on my app cos this should be a breeze. Surely there won’t be a catch or any hidden plot twists right?…...
Pretty sure they’re non-rolling. The vac scheme deadline is 01/01/2026. Does anybody know what the dates are for the schemes? Idk if I’m looking in the wrong places but I can’t seem to find the vac scheme dates anywhere lmao.
Gibson Dunn and ‘reasonably decent’ in the same sentence? I thought they were pretty good? This is Gibson Dunn’s reaction after seeing this comment about their status as a US firm:
