Same situation here idk what to feel cos it isn’t an AC invite yet it also isn’t a PFO it’s just not now but maybe later lad thanks for applying… 🤷🏾♂️
Let’s all just time travel back to the 1990s/2000s when all it took was a phone call and interview and boom the TC was all yours… :)
Oh, but then we wouldn’t have the shiny £150k+ NQ salaries that draw us to apply to US/MC firms in the first place… Oh well that’s a minor.
I’d rather that than...
Grad rec after receiving an app with solid grades (AAA and a 1st), 5 years of work experience, top tier cover letters, extracurriculars, etc., and they send a PFO before the automatic SJT, WG and VI:
I lowkey forgot Freshfields even still existed cos of how long they’ve been taking this cycle…
Congrats btw go out there and smash it matey! 🤩
Has anyone not heard from Freshfields post stage 2 in Dec/Jan for DTC? Hope it’s not PFO.
Hi guys,
Looks like it’s time for another app status update so this is the latest version for this thread:
Apps that were rejections:
Winter VS apps:
Jones Day VS post app
HSF Kramer VS post app and test
Paul, Weiss VS post app
Cleary Gottlieb VS post app
White & Case VS post app and test...
I read somewhere on here a few weeks ago that HSFK review apps in phases so there’s an initial review by junior grad rec and apps are filtered. All the remaining apps are then screened by the senior grad rec team who decide who goes to AC. So not hearing back yet can only mean good news esp cos...
Law firms back in the day when they made VS and TC offers to prospective candidates:

Law firms today when they make VS and TC offers to prospective candidates (nice change):
These are the firms still taking VS apps but I’m not sure if they’re rolling or non rolling tbh:
Russell Cooke (deadline 6 Feb)
Simmons Bristol (deadline 15 Feb)
Bevan Brittan (deadline 17 Feb)
Michelmores Bristol/Exeter (deadline 17 Feb)
Brabners Liverpool/Manchester (deadline 26 Feb)
Faegre...
It might be they take 12 to 15 on the scheme but shortlist 6 to 8 for a post VS interview? I believe some firms with smaller intakes do that but idk for sure cos I didn’t end up applying to Winston.
I think their process after the app is WG -> AC or interview -> VS. I’m sure Orrick is the same too.

I’ve just had a penny drop moment and realised the vast majority of firms I’ve progressed with in this cycle all use AllHires… That’s acc insane:
Akin Gump: AllHires ✅
Debevoise: AllHires ✅
Dechert: AllHires ✅
Gibson Dunn: AllHires ✅
Skadden: AllHires ✅
The only exceptions are Willkie and...
