Yeahhh last year my rejection said 'please know your application was strong'...
This year it was a complete big fat no with generic advice on what to improve on that everyone gets.
Mishcon PFO for Spring, finally. 24/36 amberjack.
The chat based interview honestly did not provide that much opportunity to showcase firm research. Just my two-cents. Also being lied to about the SJT being selective has really put me off.
Just submitted what I *think* is my last application of the cycle and I feel a wave of relief coming over me. This cycle has been so exhausting with little to no success. It feels like such a test on my resilience.
Good luck everyone still applying for things going forward!
I fully get why they include this in but I just don't think there is a need unless they are going to delve into specifics. I had a similar case last cycle for a DTC claiming my application was placed in the top 3rd... okay? That means nothing to me unless I am progressing. 😅
It doesn't help me...
The PFO fatigue is real. What stings the most in the rejections is when they decide to specify how high quality the applications have been this year....
I don't need to know that unless you are progressing me? Such a slap in the face, honestly. 😅😅😅
Honestly? Maybe a 2-3 if 1 is CHILL AF.
Just brush up on your application and the firm's USPs, what they look for in their lawyers/trainees.
Best of luck!
It's a short burst. Basically done in 3 minutes total.
Your vac scheme application is also your DTC application. If you don't get the placement you are still being considered for a TC. It's all one application.
That's your prerogative to disagree.
I don't see how the process is fair, any other test you take you get the result. Something as simple as an SJT and a WG test, you should be privy to your score.
When they're automating a lot of internal processes already, they can automate generating feedback per applicant.
Unless they just tick reject, I can't imagine they make 0 notes on rejected candidates. They are not being transparent because rejections are completely arbitrary lot of the time...
