As a 31 year old, no, you're not too old for vac schemes... don't forget the average age of qualification is 30. You are nice and early in your journey lol
Is this the Tax and Private Capital event? If so, Tara was there and briefly spoke at the beginning.
For the networking thing I didn't go to early careers' breakout room so not sure if she was still there. She most likely was though
Has anyone at all heard from the below firms?
Post-app:
Bristows
Cooley (aside from holding email)
Baker McKenzie
Post SJT/WG and or VI: (spring or summer whatever is applicable)
Mishcon
Simmons²
Reed Smith
Linklaters(spring vs specifically)
Is the RPC assessment invite after they screen your answer or just grades/work exp assessed? Based on their wording I assume it's just basic academics and work experience screened?
Also does the assessment include a mini WG? applied last night, received the invite just before lunch today.
You're not..the report after the VI is for the amberjack online assessment. The VI is likely assessed on the pillars too but the scores aren't for the VI because grad rec at RS are the ones who review the VIs, not externally.
You get a VI feedback report if you are rejected.
Soooo I did some digging and it seems the STANINE and STEN scores are used to place you accordingly in the percentile.
I think some questions are 'harder' than others and getting those right may boost your score.
You divide your correct answers by the total number of questions..
I got 33 out of 40 correct which is 82.5% and placed in the 88th percentile. I did my test in September though so not sure if I moved down percentile wise as more people applied. It said it was based on 2024, so maybe not.
Can someone clarify if Macfarlanes mostly recruits from their Vac schemes? a friend was telling me about them and now I'm tempted to apply for their DTC.
Interesting! My strengths are working with others and resource management and my weakness is leadership preference
Wonder what this means for me. Wg was 88th percentile and I've not heard anything back yet
