Yes I spoke to head of recruitment! It’s for Bristol and Reading offices as they had their ACs last week. London will probably be the following week (admittedly didn’t ask as I’m Bristol based) but would likely follow the same time period post-AC. Which office are you applying to? 😊
Is this for Osborne Clarke by any chance?! Which day is your AC? 😊 I know Abbie has responded to you already but the panel interview is a mixed interview (combination of strength, motivational and commercial awareness questions) with - in most cases -two partners or sometimes one partner and one...
Does anyone have insight into the Osborne Clarke virtual assessment centre? Apparently it’s now a commercial interview which is not the same as previous years’ structure!
I think I was sent the link when I received my test invite from Bakers but A&O do the same test and their practice is here: https://assessment.weareamberjack.com/?sjtId=03cb2717-f30f-ec11-8177-0050568b1f1d&clientId=3cb57459-7570-e811-80eb-005056ac24ff
Hey! Yeah - it’s Amberjack. It’s an SJT test that measures 4 traits (Grit, Applied Intellect, Creative Force and Digital Mindset) and your ability to select the best course of action in an email simulation.
Congratulations! You only need one to go right and getting to interview is a serious achievement already ☺️
I can give some insight for their interviews. Is it for one of the Vac Schemes?
I would say practice case study questions if you’re not used to them / haven’t done them before. I would also make sure you know the basics of terminology that could crop up (think finance terms, the M&A process and real estate considerations like planning, title restrictions...
Yes! All very positive and received an offer.
Main points were: Confident in interview and good arguments / considerations / structure in the written exercise (I broke up the email into main points and really treated it like an actual business email). I’d recommend being as concise as...
I would avoid that being your main point if you’re explicitly asked to look beyond this. A lot of firms have a global element and you can imagine this is something a lot of people state to be a selling point. Equally, if it’s Dentons’ biggest selling point, almost every application would talk...
Hey! Happy to share my experience.
For Clifford Chance the AC structure is a brief introduction, a written exercise (40 ish minutes) an interview (75 mins) and then a group exercise (30 mins)
In the written exercise there was a case study we had to read and address what the main issues...
You usually get a few weeks’ notice so there will be plenty of time to prepare! My soonest post interview has been 3 weeks and my longest about 8 weeks! Good luck with your first cycle 😊
They recruit after their deadline and will look at applications after this. I will say a lot of firms that do this still look at applications in date order however so applying as soon as you can is usually the best practice.
