Got that Ropes rejection later in the day. This is me done as realistically PW, K&L Gates and MoFo are going to be rejections at this point and the direct TCs left are pretty pointless applying for - need a career path other than being a lawyer I guess, if anyone has any helpful insight there...
When did you apply? Only sent my application a few days ago but thought they were one of those firms that says they’re rolling but doesn’t actually reply until after the deadline most the time
I think you add value to your application by including either of the points you mentioned (the further why MoFo and why me) as long as you ensure they are not repetitive. You could also discuss your broader commercial law journey, as I see there was no direct 'Why commercial law' question...
If this is for Travers SVS, I haven’t heard back yet but tbh the deadline was only a week ago.
They mentioned in the automated email thing that they read all applications first, then shortlist candidates for the interview. It may take several weeks before we hear back. 🥲🥲
Covington grad rec indicated they’d invited 45ish for ACs and that was going to be it - think there is one more day of ACs next week but bulk were this week across 4 sessions. Tough AC as well.
Re Paul, Weiss, based on what they said on their thread last week, I think summer applicants can expect to hear back within the next two weeks (hopefully). Not sure if they’ve gotten back to all spring apps though.
I thought this too and have passed app stage for similar firms so think my answers to their Qs should be convincing… hate that you can’t check what you submitted to them

I generally say to aim for around 1400-1600 across the four questions. One answer might be longer than another but I generally feel like you don’t want it to be much more than this amount it total as it’s going to be a lot to read.
