Thank you for your response! Could you please tell me any well-known agencies that deal with lateral hiring? And do they usually charge you once you contact them?
I wanted to know how to apply for those positions (i.e. from the firm website, from getting in touch on LinkedIn or any other way), if there's a particular process that needs to be followed, if it's better to go through recruiters or apply directly, how the interview processes for these are etc.
Does anyone know any forums/communities like TCLA that focus on lateral hiring for commercial law firms in London? And does anyone know the process for lateral hiring generally (for associates with 2-3 years of experience)? While VS/TC applications have a more direct process on firm websites...
True hahaha :( There were two offers and one rejection so far, from what I heard. One offer and rejection were from ACs on the same day, and the person with the offer heard back before. The other offer was from an AC the week after 17th-21st. That's all I know so far tbh :(
Hahahaha same! One person heard within two weeks, and the other heard in a little more than two weeks. They both heard back on the same day though, and I haven't heard of any other offers since then.
I've heard about two offers so far, one person's AC was before the 17th-21st week and one person's was after. But none in that week so far :( They've started sending rejections for the week before 17th-21st though, so hopefully they're getting to outcomes for my week soon too. But I'm honestly...
Has anyone who did their AC in the 17th-21st April week got either an offer or a rejection yet?
Also, does W&C generally send offers before rejections? It's been more than 4 weeks, so I'm wondering if I should assume it's been a rejection
Hi,
This thread might be helpful, it clarifies which firms hire from Direct TC applications! https://www.thecorporatelawacademy.com/forum/threads/where-firms-recruit-from-vacation-scheme-vs-direct-tc-applications-2022-2023.6136/
From your list, firms such as Ashurst, Dentons, Freshfields, NRF...
I'd recommend practicing answers to possible questions with the specified prep time limit, and record yourself while speaking. It's often tough to structure your thoughts in the given prep time, since it is sometimes only 15 seconds. So practicing answers, and just being familiar with the broad...
Does it reflect badly on you if you ask a firm for an update on a Summer Vac Scheme AC, and request them to give an outcome as soon as possible? (I would need to book international flight tickets and sort out visas if I get the vac scheme, so I would prefer knowing as early as possible! It's...
Yes, lots are very flexible about conducting the AC online. But send the firm an email before you decide to apply to them, and ask if they are open to virtual ACs - some firms have moved towards an exclusively offline model now and it's better to know this before you spend time writing an...
If it's been a month, I think you should drop them an email asking for an update. There were some firms last year that didn't tell candidates for almost 3 months after their AC, so it's definitely possible that they forget to contact.
Any tips to get over post-AC stress regarding the outcome? I'm trying to distract myself and do other things, but I still keep replaying parts of the AC in my head lol and thinking of what I could've done differently :(
