    Has anyone who applied to Shoosmiths not received an invite to do the strengths test? I notice a lot of people saying they have and was wondering if this was actually the next step or whether it just runs concurrently.

    I applied for their Winter Scheme back in November but my reference came in late so they pushed me to the Spring scheme instead.

    Received a PFO from Shoosmiths for their direct TC which said my application scored "very close" to the minimum requirements. Is this just a generic thing everyone got or does it actually mean something?

    I've heard from current trainees that it is just a pass/fail exercise so as long as you reach the required standard it doesn't have much bearing on whether you get an offer.

    Yes, that's what the instructions sent out say. The written exercise as far as I can make out is an error spotting/redrafting exercise.
