Thank you to you both.
Re M&A post, sorry if I indiciated that the standard was lower at BPP. That was not what I meant. I heard how for their assessment, it is just a recording, and you do not compete against a fellow opponent(as is the case at Ulaw), therefore, for me at least, making it seem...
Hi Lisa, thx for answering. Few follow up questions if you have the time
1)- Is this for ULaw? I know the adv assessment at BPP is easier/less pressure
2) Your response is very reassuring! However, I stumbled and rushed the concluding remarks(as I was finished with time, so I assumed I had to...
Hi, did my advocacy assessment today.
I think I made decent and relevant submissions but I feel as thought I stuttered or stumbled a lot especially when answering the judges question. Nerves.
I also think I spoke a lot- judge said I spoke within the time limits and said I should finish. I...
Hi everyone,
ULaw have given students like myself an option to do exams online. I have a few questions and would greatly appreciate it if anyone who has done exams online can provide insight. I wish to do exams online but need to make sure it's a viable thing to do compared to the alternative...
Can't speak for open days but for interviews, 99% of firms have reimbursed me for travel expenses. Interestingly, one big firm didn't(their revenues are in the billions..)
Best bet is to check up on their policies beforehand. Hope you enjoy the open days should you attend.
If in an interview, you are asked how would you respond to a fellow trainee being rude to support staff, how would one approach that?
My initial reaction is to chat to the trainee, and politely explain that their actions are impacting others, and perhaps if they reconsider what they say. Though...
Hi @Jessica Booker
Would it be possible to get some clarification on this? Is the question assessing how I balance the needs of a trainee and a partner, or is it assessing communication with other team members?
Thanks :)
@Jessica Booker
In a situational interview, I was asked a scenario question which stumped me at the time. Was wondering what your take is on this..
This was something along the lines of " You are a trainee at x firm, and your personal assistant is not completing any of your work that is...
Two cycles ago, I applied to TS, got an interview for their VS, and I did the latter. If I recall correctly, it was a box type of answer(rather than submitting an attached cover letter), so I think Dear X is fine(certainly was in my case)
Does anyone have any tips for situational/scenario interviews? Like " Imagine you are a trainee..." sort of interviews.
I had one before and underperformed , so would like to do better this time.
Thanks :)
Oh okay i see.
Just to let you know, there’s a phone number contact on one of the recruitment pages for graduates (I’m not sure if this is firm wide or for the London office). Perhaps that’s the only line of contact we as candidates can have with Paul Hastings as of now?
Thanks for letting me know.
Hi,
re HL, I remember seeing on this forum(several times) that people emailed grad rec if they got rejected because they wanted to know if rejection was because of the app or WG scores(in the end it was because of their application IIRC). Perhaps it might be best to contact the graduate...
Hi,
I can't give you advice re paralegalling(never done it before), however, I don't think you need an interest in banking and finance to appeal to firms. Some firms, like HSF, excel in Litigation, amongst other things. Others are strong at Real Estate, Corporate etc. If you show an interest in...
Does anyone know if Hogan Lovells recruits 100%(or close to the figure) from their VS? Or is it where majority of recruits are done through VS, with substantial(relatively speaking) recruitment from TC
