    Training Contract Applications

Hi guys quick question. So white and case TC applications close in a couple of days. I'm just wondering whether I should apply for the TC or wait and apply for the vac scheme as they recruit primarily from the scheme. I'm just wondering if I'm unsuccessful directly applying for the TC whether...

Hearing Back from Law Firms, Assessment Centres & Interview Tips - 2019 - 2020

Hey guys, anyone here get an AC with NRF ? Good bit past the deadline so I assume it's a rejection. Was surprised that they wouldn't have let me know...especially since I sent in my app the day applications open. Quite frustrating. Also still no news from Travers. Assume that's the same for...

Hearing Back from Law Firms, Assessment Centres & Interview Tips - 2019 - 2020

Hi guys, The NRF email saying that AC's were to be held in February was a mistake on their part. AC's will be held in the weeks following the July 14th deadline. Just got clarification from grad rec.

    Grades Question

Hi guys, I'm just after finishing my exchange year in China. Because the education system and grading requirements are so different, my home uni just considers our grades on a pass or fail basis and our grades appear on our home university transcripts in this form. So when filling out my grades...

Hearing Back from Law Firms, Assessment Centres & Interview Tips - 2019 - 2020

Just want to double check that Linklaters is taking summer training contract applications. Slaughter and May 2021 Training Contract

Just sent my application to Slaughter and May. I didn't realise that you had to address it to Janine Arnold, and just went with Sir/Madam. Do you think that will make a difference. It wouldn't be the difference between a succesful and unsuccesful application, right ?

    Travers Smith Application Struggles

Yeah, I'm not terribly hopeful for my TC app. Sounds like they're just saying that they will get in contact with us. I kind of get the feeling that I'm just going to get rejected no matter the quality of my application.

I just submitted my application for NRF's 2021 training contract for penultimate year law students. Travers Smith Application Struggles

I just got this update for my TC app..not sure if I should be more hopeful or not. "We apologise for the delay in responding to you regarding your training contract 2021 application. Due to larger volumes of applications than normal, and a particularly busy time with our summer vacation...

    Cover Letter

Hi guys, Just in the process of writing a cover letter for Slaughter and May. I beleive that grad rec was quite clear in that they don't want anything over a page. I ususally structure my cover letters as why law, why the firm and why me. However, since the word count is more limited in this...

Hearing Back from Law Firms, Assessment Centres & Interview Tips - 2019 - 2020

I agree, it's pretty frustrating to have spent ages on an application just to be told that they won't realisticaly even be considering it.

Hearing Back from Law Firms, Assessment Centres & Interview Tips - 2019 - 2020

Don't know whether I should still be hopeful or just write Travers off for this application cycle. "Thank you for your application for a training contract. Your application is important to us and we value your continued interest in the firm. Due, however, to the higher than normal number of...
