If it helps, I've had an offer as a non-Oxbridge, international university WOC :) The firm is definitely less diverse than other firms but to be fair it is harder as they don't hire laterally - takes longer for the change to be seen that way!
In my interview I was asked about a deal I found interesting and why, and then we discussed things like which departments might be involved and my reasons for finding it interesting. There were quite a lot of follow-up questions on things I’d mentioned tangentially in this context.
I've been told on more than one of their online events that they do require four weeks of assessed legal work experience (i.e. you can't do a bunch of virtual internships and count that).
I'm guessing everyone will have had this but Freshfields just emailed saying they'd send WG invites out toward end Feb for Direct TC, and then AC will be in March. Looks like it will be a long wait!
I had a similar wait and checked my portal earlier this afternoon to find I had been rejected 3 days ago. The rejection email came through literally a minute after I had checked. Not to say it will be the same result for you but that was my experience :)
Following the structure they recommended at the application session I attended, I had a pretty even split between “Why Freshfields”, “Why commercial law” “Why you”.
I was accepted onto the Workshop and am still waiting to hear back on the TC app. In any case there is no template to download anymore so I wouldn’t worry too much about this! I’ve also attended their online application session and no template was mentioned, so they must have phased it out at...
I don’t think it’s a requirement anymore. I typed up my statement in a Word doc with name + title in the header and submitted it as-is both for the Workshop and the TC app.
