Hi all,
I've been invited for a TC AC with CC. I don't know how I bagged that and now I'm really really stressing with the commercial element of the interview. Does anyone have any tips at all about the commercial awareness aspect and what I can be doing? A lot of people are saying being aware...
Thanks for uploading this Jaysen!
I was wondering whether it'd be possible to see the guidance/marking on this, please? It'd be great to see your perspective on the case studies.
:)
Hi all,
I hope you're all well!
I was wondering whether anyone had any tips/pointers/guidance on case study exercises and in-tray exercises, please?
The only guidance I have from the firm is:
Written Exercise
45m to prepare two pieces of writing.
Past things have included memos, letters to...
Watson Farley & Williams don't recruit on a rolling basis however screen applications in order to keep up with volume. Confirmed via e-mail with grad rec.
Hey! I think this may be because Linklaters may no longer hire these services anymore. The Links website does say that the TC vacancy is live. I remember in one of the chats they hosted that they hire around 20% of their trainees through the direct TC route.
Good luck!
Thanks Miki for creating this!
Are you guys explicitly mentioning the skills that they've set out that they're looking for? Or are you including examples of those skills in each entry you guys create for work experience?
I really really hate CVs haha
That's so so strange. They must want to recruit and probably expect their Vac Scheme cohorts to fill up the TC slots if screening is so late and ACs with the next recruitment cycle.
Did they include years? Could this be an outdated holding e-mail :/
To those interested in the Middle East, an interesting article on Ashurst's presence in the region: https://www.law.com/legal-week/2019/05/20/ashurst-bulks-up-in-middle-east-to-cope-with-workload-from-oil-giant/
Hi all!
An interesting piece I should imagine on the effect on law-firms: https://www.law.com/legal-week/2019/05/17/global-lawyers-discouraged-by-trade-war/
Does anyone have access to Legal Week that perhaps could explain the effect on law-firms? :)
Thanks @Jaysen for the articles!
Does anyone by any chance have access to this article? It'd be interesting what this says: https://www.law.com/legal-week/2019/05/21/compliance-concerns-spike-over-huawei-trade-restrictions-378-108561/
Hey Raphael! Thanks for your insight.
In part (iv), when you talked about the things you did, how did you talk about them? Did you link them back to what trainees are expected to do or did you just talk about the things you did?
Thanks!
:)
Hi all!
I hope you're well! :)
I've started to draft my personal statement for the Freshfields TC application cycle this summer.
I'm struggling to actually write. Various guidance and insights say why law, why Freshfields, why you with a 70% weighting to the 'you' bit but what does this...
