Thanks for clarifying Jessica. Although, could you explain in more detail please re firms sponsoring you to do the SQE 1 and 2 prep course to do the SQE 2 (if someone falls under the exemption of having completed the LPC)? Does that mean you would attend SQE 1 workshops etc but won’t have to sit...
Oh really, do you know what firms these are? Trying to sieve out firms who require both (or either) for the next TC cycle as it’s not financially viable 😅
Does anyone know whether Trowers and Hamlins require people to take the SQE 1 and 2 if you have the LPC? Conscious that firms have started to roll this requirement out even though the LPC doesn’t expire until 2031.
Ah okay, yeah maybe? It’ll be good to know whether we’re still on track for this week to hear back. The grad rec team have been super responsive the whole process too

Not sure if someone can offer an insight on this, but are trainee solicitor salaries negotiable? I’ve noticed that a couple of the firms I want to apply to for a TC are offering a much lower salary than what I’m on now (I’m an experienced paralegal), which, hypothetically, if I secured one to...
Has anyone done an assessment centre for VWV before? There’s very limited information about it/peoples experience with it so any info would be greatly appreciated!
Has anyone ever done an application to Gateley for the vac scheme? If so, what was the process after the initial application and what did the assessment centre entail? Thanks!
One of the questions in a training contract application I’m applying for asks: ‘what areas of law that our firm specialises in are of particular interest to you?’
How would I go about answering this in terms of structure and how many areas should I list? I was thinking 2 or maybe 3, but I don’t...
What’s the etiquette of applying to the same firm in another cycle, and using the same/similar answers as the ones you used in the previous cycle if the applications questions are the same/similar? Especially on questions like why the firm/why commercial law, seeing as my motivations for those...
