Hi @axelbeugre! Hope you are well :) Are there any resources for preparing for vacation scheme exit interviews? The database resources for VS interviews was so useful so I was just wondering if there was a similar document or if you have any advice.
If I get a TC and the firm has a specific provider, can I ask to switch? Hearing all the horror stories about BPP is making me consider whether it might even be worth self-funding to avoid it lol.
I would say to be honest with yourself and not compare yourself. For some it takes 2 weeks, others a day, so your best approach is to have a routine you can stick to. A few hours a day and the weekend is ample time. You'll smash it!!!
neither! was just asking legalstalker because I saw a post on how they were waiting a while post-ac and was seeking consolation to ease my nerves lol. best of luck though!!
Never mind, just heard back with good news :) Unless travers get back to me, I think that's me done for this cycle. Went from 0 schemes last year to 2 this year - hopefully I convert them both!!! Don't lose hope and keep pushing everyone!!
@Legalstalker how long did you wait from Goodwin post-ac? I didn't apply but I remember you waited a while for yours and im overthinking bc a firm said they'd get back to me in a week and no news yetttt
I would advise against it as ive always been probed further on my experiences. if you mention working in a team on a project they might ask more about the roles of each individual, the details about the project itself etc
even though I can see why firms ask competency questions, I completely agree with you. my issue with competency questions is that a lot of people tend to massively inflate their experiences. I know people who have fabricated scenarios just to answer the questions.
throughout your TC, you'll be working with different teams, be thinking on your feet, will need to be proactive etc and if a candidate has never done this before then they might have a harder time adjusting. communication, public speaking etc are all skills developed over time and firms likely...
I would almost dissuade you from doing this. I did this last year and it really was not effective because I've attended loads more events and gained more experience so my motivations and interests have definitely changed
its not to test how you'd apply your past experiences to future scenarios but more to see your thought process in the past and decision making abilities when those facts have been presented to you. also to see whether you've practiced those competencies to begin with. if a firm values...
