Same for me - got my direct TC with HL having never done an open day or vac scheme! I do think it depends on the firm though - with HL I noticed that a decent (i.e. pretty small but not negligible) number of their trainees on LinkedIn had never done a VS before. I also got through to AC with...
Hi, I did my AC for the direct TC last week and was successful in getting the offer, feel free to message me and I can tell you my experience of the day. Same goes for anyone else doing HL ACs :)
Hm I'm honestly not sure because I applied on the 7th Jan and received the test invitation on the 9th, which seems like a super quick turnaround to me. Also heard of plenty of people being rejected post-WG and IDK, to me it seems like too many people for it to be just on the basis of them not...
I actually did a direct TC AC on Tuesday at HL which they told us was the first one of the cycle. Might be because I applied for the 2021 intake though?
If this is your first cycle I would really encourage you not to get too down about it - I know that's way easier said than done, but this is coming from someone who has literally done four application cycles before even getting a VS(!). In both the partner interviews for my ACs so far this year...
I completely agree about HSF! Had the same issue as I did the AC when I was a third year English student....I remember them asking me “is this legally binding” and of course I didn’t have a clue back then. Totally sympathise!
Amazing! Actually super random but I just got one of those LinkedIn emails where it tells you who's been searching you in the past week and one of the companies that came up was Linklaters....so there is possibly a connection there? Or maybe I'm just being too hopeful :D
Just got direct TC AC from Hogan Lovells!!! Anyone done one this/last cycle and have tips? They're one of my top choices so would really appreciate any help :)
Hi Jessica, apologies if this question has already been asked as I imagine it's a fairly common one!
I've been in a couple of situations in competency interviews where I've been asked a pretty specific question, e.g. 'have you ever worked with someone in a team who was not contributing as much...
I did a VI for W&C and thought I really messed up one question so I panicked and turned off my WiFi connection - of course when I reconnected it it just sent the half-finished answer and I felt so stupid - still somehow managed to get through though!!
Hello - to add to the Bakers speculation, I also got an AC invitation today! Again, if anyone has any info / experience and doesn't mind sharing that would be super useful :)
