    Linklaters 2019/20 Application

I mean I can’t give you a definitive answer, but I did my test over the course of 3 days and just had my last day on their VS yesterday, so I’m fairly confident that this is not timed at all

Thank you, this is also really helpful! Will definitely have a think about these elements tonight and see if there’s anything I can do to prep

This is really helpful, thank you Jessica! I will definitively try to have a quick browse, but like you said, we don’t know the client, so might be a bit of a stab in the dark

Does anyone have any experience with client pitch exercises (group exercise) by any chance and can shed some light as to what to expect etc? Thank you!

The dates for their vac scheme are 29.06.-10.07. 20.07.-31.07. 10.08.-21.08. grad rec is quite involved in this and it’s a bit of a logistical challenge to say the least, so I’d probably expect them to come back to people somewhere in between the schemes... I hope this helps

    Linklaters 2019/20 Application

I applied at the beginning of December last year and heard back in January, so it took about 1.5 months with the holidays in between. They do hire the majority of their trainees from their VS though and they are running 3, with the first one starting on Monday. My best guess is that they will...

    General Discussion Thread 2020-21

My VS with Linklaters starts next week and there hasn’t really been anything in regards to structure or practice area either. I honestly think that if they know, they will let us know and it’s as simple as that . I’d only follow up with them if the other people on your scheme have heard and you...

    Linklaters 2019/20 Application

it depends on how busy they are. A day? A week? Like I said before, their first virtual VS starts in a week, so they might be busy organising that and may consequently take a bit longer. I have received responses from them two hours later and 5 days later, so it all depends. Apologies if that’s...

    Linklaters 2019/20 Application

i can’t answer the first bit, but I received my report the next day together with a separate holding email that my application is under review. Then received the email with my application outcome a month later.

    Linklaters 2019/20 Application

no problem and good luck with your application. Also, it might be worth mentioning for everyone applying for the direct TC that there is a chance they might be a bit slower than usual in getting back to applicants. Their first virtual VS starts in less than 2 weeks, which presumably involves a...

    Linklaters 2019/20 Application

With the Capp test, all the attributes are judged against their agile mindset framework, so they are all important. It’s more the score that matters. Your lowest score could still be higher than someone’s highest score, so the result is purely for you to highlight your strengths and weaknesses...

I just received an invite for an interview with Lee & Thompson for their VS, which is at least some good news after Wiggin deferred to next year. Has anyone experience with interviews with non-city firms?

exactly and they are keeping their applications open until the 31st of May 2021. So this wasn’t to say that we got an AC, basically means they won’t be hiring anyone this year, but we can keep the apps on file if we want to

    General Discussion Thread 2020-21

Wiggin has postponed their AC to next summer as they rather want to meet people in person (in case anyone applied there). It will still be for the 2022 intake. Not sure how that will work with the GDL and LPC/SQE considering they do sponsor their trainees for those...

    Interview/Open Day/Vacation Scheme Updates- Coronavirus

I mean I’m already on the GDL so this doesn’t affect me, but surely there are going to be a lot of people that can’t afford to pay for the GDL without knowing that a firm will pay for it. Would be interesting to see how they are going to handle it? Especially with firms that only take on a...

    General Discussion Thread 2020-21

do you think this is going to disadvantage people from universities that still require you to sit all exams and within the normal timeframe rather than being given days to complete it? Even compared to other Unis that require all exams to be completed but give you a lot more time, my uni seems...

    General Discussion Thread 2020-21

Our exams will be open book and timed. So there hasn’t really been too much of a change. Yes, you can look at your book, but in reality you only have 2 h for the whole exam, so there’s still only limited time to actually look things up. Exams will still be on the original dates. If you don’t...

    Interview/Open Day/Vacation Scheme Updates- Coronavirus

Links’ summer vac scheme likely to be two weeks long now and moved online. Dates unconfirmed as of yet, so duration could still change. They are confident that they can use the scheme to assess people for TCs. No further info yet as to what the scheme would look like.
