One of the questions Ashurst asking is 'please summarise for us what a commercial lawyer does?'

May I know is it a pure narrative question and how should I incorporate my personal experience and approach it, please?

Additionally, may I know would it be useful to use examples such as listening to their firm's legal podcast to make up for the fact that I did not attend any of their open day events?

Yes, I would closely focus on the question and answer what a commercial lawyer does. You don't really need to incorporate your personal experience here, unless you want to make a reference to how you learned the things you did.

You can mention the firm's podcast if you feel it's relevant to answering the question (showing your understanding of what a commercial lawyer does).

Hey! To add to Jaysen's answer, I'd probably also emphasise the role of a trainee at the firm since this is what you're applying for and the firm is probably looking to find out how much you understand about the things you'd be involved in!
