Hello, I will let Paul answer your first question. 2. Please see elsewhere on the forum where I have answered what drew me to Paul, Weiss. In terms of what Paul, Weiss aims to offer trainees, we want to provide a training contract which gives trainees real hands on experience on transactions. We want junior lawyers who qualify with a solid foundation of legal and commercial experience and with a real understanding of the work we do. As the firm grows in London, trainees will have the unique opportunity of being a part of a dynamic and exciting culture whilst still working on some of the largest transactions in the market. 3. It is hard to give a clear estimate on working hours (and even harder to rank this against other firms). Working hours can vary greatly from firm to firm and from practice area to practice area and can depend on general market conditions and individual workflow. A key thing to understanding about working in a law firm is that it is not a homogenous space, but there are different ecosystems between different practice areas and even sub-groups. These different groups may have different working practices which make it difficult to provide an overall estimate on working hours. In addition to this we are currently in a growth phase which means things are constantly changing. All of this to say it depends! The hours will be comparable to other major law firms in the City. Not being one I can't comment on how partners with families manage their work/life balance, but personally I find balance by clearly communicating my commitments to people both in and outside of work. This allows you to manage people's expectations and therefore manage your own schedule a lot better. I've found as long as you clearly communicate your plans to team members, you can structure your work/life balance in a way that makes sense. Obviously, we are in a client service industry which does require putting the client first and being on hand to deliver at key deadlines, but this dedication is always truly appreciated by the team. 4. I think the culture at Paul, Weiss is great. It helps that we are in a unique phase of growth and the lawyers that join the team join wanting to contribute to that success. I think this creates a dynamic and vibrant atmosphere that promotes ambition and entrepreneurialism. We want trainees who would love the opportunity to join and contribute to such a team. Kind regards, Anthony
