Heya! You wouldn't need to memorise the experiences on your CV but you would need to be very familiar with everything on it. I'd suggest going through your application and trying to think objectively about any particularly interesting things you've mentioned that a third person might pick up on to find out more about your personality and motivations. If you're struggling to do this get a friend to help you out. Some things your interviewers might pick up on: Education 1. Discrepancies in grades/A level subject choice - S&M in particular always quiz every candidate on why they scored weaker in one module over another and if you've done some non-typical A levels they will ask what motivated that 2. If you're an international student - why have you chosen to go to university in the UK 3. If you're pursuing a masters - what are your motivations behind that, tell me about your dissertation topic Work experience 1. Do you have work experience in other fields (particularly if they are careers linked to law like consulting or banking)/other firms - why law and not those other areas, how does our firm compare to this other one you've worked at 2. Expect commercial awareness questions based on your CV - if you've mentioned working in a particular industry in your work experience (could just be something as simple as a retail job) then prepare for questions surrounding developments in that industry Extra-curriculars Very subjective but generally they will pick up on anything interesting that you've been involved in, or anything that you've shown considerable commitment to. From experience, CV based interviews tend to involve very little to no competency questions at all (especially if it's a partner led interview). But for completeness sake anyway, I'd definitely recommend still preping for answers to typical competency questions surrounding teamwork, time management and resilience and of course the 3 whys. Hope that helps! ☺️
