[QUOTE="Jacob Miller, post: 71402, member: 5063"] So I think there are a few points to address here: - the suggested styles are only suggestions as a starting point and will not comprehensively cover every single possible way of answering a commercial questions - candidates will need to modify/ adapt them to suit whatever you're prepping for the same as anything in the article or any exemplar answer. - you've got to be able to exercise some amount of judgement here. I've been asked questions as vague as "tell me about something you've seen in the news recently" and also things as specific as "tell me about a recent commercial news story, its potential impact on clients and our work" - the former isn't asking me to talk about Katie Price's latest appearance on the tabloids, nor is the latter asking me to present for an hour about macroeconomic trends and how the market is in a bubble/ on a cliff edge/ etc etc. While I'm obviously using extreme examples, a large amount of it is just a simple judgement and thinking through logically what you're actually being asked. - there isn't one answer which is correct and renders everything else wrong. You can only answer the question you're asked, if an interviewer wants more information then they will ask for it. The other thing is that there is a spectrum of correct answers, it's about showing broad skills and competencies at interview through the lens of having a general understanding of what's going on in the world.
