Incredible, I hadn't realised that a full two months had passed since my last update! I've not been around on the forum much owing to the holiday season into exams and a sort of winding down period beyond that. It's back into the full swing of classes now and indeed more applications as I see fit. It's honestly been a bit rough with rejections (Milbank post-Stage 2; Baker McKenzie, Goodwin, Davis Polk post-app; Weil, Mayer Brown post-SJT/VI ) which was also a reason I stayed off the forums. Since those applications, though, I think I've gotten much better and more tailored feedback on improving my applications, and it's manifested in a virtual AC invite for OC! This alone has given me a huge confidence boost and encouraged me to press ahead with more applications despite the rejections thus far. That being said, the current outstanding applications and stages are as follows: Freshfields DTC - Stage 2 SJT + VIs completed in December W&C Spring VS - SJT completed in December Sidley Spring VS - Submitted in December Dechert Summer VS - Submitted in December Paul, Weiss Summer VS - Submitted in December SPB London Summer VS - Submitted January (incidentally, has anyone who submitted in January received an online assessment invite yet?) Addleshaw Goddard London Summer VS - Online test completed in January Gibson Dunn Summer VS - Online test completed two days ago (I completely missed the invite in my spam folder as I had exams but could still access and complete it? I've emailed Grad Rec about it but it remains to be seen if my application will still be assessed) Osborne Clarke London Summer VS - Virtual AC Invite two days ago! Ropes & Gray VS (there was no selection for Spring or Summer) - Submitted 31 Jan Simmons & Simmons Bristol Summer VS - SJT to be completed It's relative freedom from applications for the next month and all remaining applications would be for DTCs (I've currently got 11 firms on the list who aren't necessarily in my areas of interest ) so I'm looking forward to being more focussed on my studies again and keeping my fingers crossed that some ACs will come my way from the remaining applications! I'd just like to remind everyone again to take care of yourselves, self-care is incredibly important in this gruelling process and keep trying. I'm honestly really glad for the confidence boost I got from the OC VAC invite even if it's not the full AC leading to a VS because it tells me that I'm doing the right things with my applications, and I had some serious self-doubts which stopped me from applying to three other firms I was quite interested in whose deadlines have now passed. Ultimately, no news is good news until you get bad news :D Otherwise, I hope everyone is doing great and if not, then that you will lift your chin up again and press ahead, we've got this! P.S. Really excited to see STB will finally be starting an early careers programme, hopefully it launches soon as I think they're a really exciting firm that's actually been dominating the European PE headlines in the last year (despite Latham, K&E, and PW's apparent prevalence in this area)
